Likely water category
Category 1
Clean water. Caught early, most materials can be dried in place.
Call (888) 417-5665 for an on-site assessmentAn estimate only, based on typical Northshore losses. Every loss is different, and a firm number comes from an assessment of the property.
How this estimate works
The IICRC S500 sorts water into three categories by how contaminated it is. Clean water from a supply pipe is Category 1. Water from a washer or an AC drain pan is Category 2. Flood water, storm surge and sewage are Category 3 from the moment they enter the house, which is why most Northshore flood losses are handled as black water.
Time and contact matter too: clean water that sits for days, or that crosses soil on its way in, degrades to a higher category. The check is a planning aid only. The tech who does the walkthrough confirms the category on site. See flood water cleanup and sewage backup cleanup.
